Common Questions About The RISE Group Ministries

How do I schedule an intake?

+
Contact us by phone or through the intake form on our Contact page. A member of our team will respond within one business day to schedule your first appointment.

What happens during the first appointment?

+
Your first session is a comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluation. A licensed clinician walks through your history, current challenges, symptoms, and goals to build a personalized treatment plan.

Do you accept insurance?

+
Yes. We accept most major commercial plans (BCBS of Alabama, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna) as well as Alabama Medicaid and Medicare. We also offer a sliding scale for self-pay clients.

How long are therapy sessions?

+
Individual sessions are typically 50 minutes. Group sessions are 60–90 minutes. Your clinician will recommend a frequency based on your needs.

Is everything confidential?

+
Yes. Your health information is protected under HIPAA. We cannot share your information without your written consent, with limited exceptions required by law (e.g., imminent risk of harm).

What if I'm in crisis?

+
The RISE Group Ministries provides scheduled outpatient services. If you are in immediate crisis, call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or 911. See our Crisis Resources page for more information.

What are the RISE Mentorship Programs?

+
The RISE Mentorship Collection is a suite of 8 evidence-based mentorship programs for justice-involved populations, developed by The RISE Group Ministries. Each program is built for a specific population. Visit our Mentorship Collection page to learn more.

Can I attend therapy online?

+
Please contact us to ask about current telehealth availability. We will work with you to find the best option for your situation.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

+
A photo ID, your insurance card (if applicable), a list of current medications, and any relevant medical or legal records. You'll also complete intake paperwork before or during your visit.

Do you treat substance use disorders?

+
Yes. Our Substance Use Disorder counseling integrates with individual therapy, relapse prevention planning, and coordination with psychiatric providers when medication-assisted treatment is indicated.

Are the mentorship programs part of therapy?

+
The mentorship programs are separate from clinical therapy. They are structured curriculum-based programs. Your clinician may recommend a program as a complement to therapy, but they operate independently.

How do I get a Good Faith Estimate?

+
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive an estimate of expected charges. Contact our office to request a Good Faith Estimate in writing. See our Good Faith Estimate page for details.
